Church Magazine: Men's Group (August 2010)

After a couple of months' break – punctuated only by a pleasant evening's bowling at Cumbernauld Bowling Club in July – the Men's Group start back with their AGM and Quizaid (a fund-raising quiz for Christian Aid which will help to alleviate problems in the latest crisis in Pakistan) in August. Then you'll be able to experience a vuvuzela from South Africa and hear stories from our very own JP plus an insight into the work of the Seagull Trust which is linked to the canal network. Couple that with trips to Dollar and the model railway here in Cumbernauld and (hopefully) a fund-raiser for the Summer Fete and there's plenty of variety, as ever.

Please consider this to be your own personal invitation - we sincerely hope that as many men as possible will come and join us this session - you will be made very welcome!

The full programme for August to December 2010 is as follows:

August 25th AGM, followed by QuizAid

September 8th Ten-pin Bowling (Falkirk)
September 22nd Guest Speaker: Ivar Struthers (World Cup 2010, South Africa)

October 13th Guest Speaker: Anne Walker (Tales of a JP)
October 29th Scottish evening (to be confirmed) -
Fund-raiser for the Summer Fete

November 10th Visit - Dollar Museum
November 24th Visit - Cumbernauld Model Railway Club

December 1st Guest Speaker: Ian Hall (Seagull Trust)
December 8th Christmas Meal

Please do come along and join us - we meet in the Laird's Loft on Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm (unless otherwise indicated) and we start with a cup of tea / coffee, so that will show you how informal we are. Timings for the outings and the Scottish evening will be in the weekly Church News bulletin or you can find them on this website's What's On page.
